Material guidelines

Hardware

We work in both Mac and PC environments.

Software

We use Adobe CC software (including Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign)

The primary output file is a printable pdf with fonts converted to paths and images integrated. To avoid possible errors, please send us a template file (jpg) by e-mail.

Resolution

There are different resolutions in printing presses. Super-wide or XXL printers need only a resolution of 100 dpi or less. Wide, or XL, machines require a resolution of 150-300 dpi. For smaller print products requiring photographic quality, we need a resolution of 600 – 1000 dpi.

The print file to be sent must be smaller in size or proportionately smaller. If you have reduced the size of the image, don’t forget to increase the resolution accordingly.

For example, the resolution for 1:1 is 60 dpi, so for 1:10 the resolution must be 600 dpi.

Colour management

Large format prints (banners, tapes, plates, etc.) are printed in CMYK colours. Offset printing also has the possibility to use Pantone colours. Note! most of the Pantone shades cannot be realised with the 4-colour technique. If your large image file contains Pantone shades, please check with your contact person if they can be implemented in 4-colour before printing.

For prints that require high quality photographic prints, the print file can be designed in RGB colour mode > Adobe RGB (1998)
